2020 Preview:
Coach Kaia Hill is heading into her second season as the head coach of the Lady Lions! She is excited to welcome Katie Bishop and Christina Goodman to the coaching staff this year. Both Katie and Christina bring with them extensive playing and coaching experience, a heart to build relationships, and help players grow both on and off the court. Coach Hill is also excited about the leadership coming from this year's captains (Mya Bredemus '21, Kyra Sauve '21 and Miranda Demars '22).

Beyond the goals that the team sets each season, LCA Girls Basketball has six core covenants that guide the program. These covenants serve as a foundation and vision for what their program is all about. Their core covenants are principles that each player and coach commits to visibly demonstrating both on and off the court. The acronym IMPACT stands for INTENTIONAL - MAGNIFY - POSITIVE - AUTHENTIC - COMMITTED - TENACITY. But it also stands for the legacy each player and coach hopes to leave. LCA Girls Basketball strives to leave an IMPACT that points to the cross. Their purpose is to glorify the name of Jesus Christ, to leave an IMPACT that points to Him.

The 2019-2020 squad finished the season with a record of 14-13. They placed 4th in the MCAA and made it to the Section 4A Semifinals. This year's team is looking to build off last season by climbing in the conference standings and moving deeper into section tournament play. "We have numerous players with varsity playing experience returning for the 2020-2021 season. This puts our team in a great position to start the year. We are excited to be returning two all-conference players in Mya Bredemus '21 and Hannah Compton '23 as well," said Coach Hill.

We will be offering JV and Varsity teams for students who are in 9th-12th grade. Players or parents interested in learning more about basketball at LCA should contact Head Coach Kaia Hill (khill@lcamn.org | 612.532.0290).
Note: Middle School Girls Basketball evaluations will take place on Friday, November 20. All 5th-8th grade girls planning to play basketball should plan to attend this evaluation. Practice dates/times will be determined in the coming weeks.
